OUR

history

The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS)

Was established in 1997 as a government collaboration project initiated by H.R.H. Princess Sirindhorn. Its mission is to develop and promote robust German engineering education and research across Thailand and Southeast Asia. Located in modern facilities on King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB)’s main campus, TGGS maintains strong partnerships with leading industry players. The school’s industry-oriented postgraduate programs integrate teaching and research following the successful model of RWTH Aachen University in Germany—one of Europe’s premier research institutions, internationally renowned in engineering and science.

The Chemical and Process Engineering (CPE)

Program is one of the international postgraduate offerings at TGGS. It was co-developed in 2003 by professors from AVT (Aachener VerfahrensTechnik, or Aachen Chemical Engineering) at RWTH Aachen University and the Department of Chemical Engineering at KMUTNB, and officially launched in 2005. Designed to provide advanced education that deepens understanding and competencies in chemical and process engineering, the program is tailored to meet both local and global industrial needs. It incorporates substantial practical training in the form of mandatory project-oriented internships and an industry-focused Master’s thesis.

In 2024, CPE has evolved

Into the Chemical Engineering and Management (CEM) program, reflecting the industry’s changing landscape and the rising demand for versatile skill sets. This new program features a revamped curriculum aimed at equipping future engineers with a blend of chemical engineering knowledge and essential management skills. By integrating management elements, we provide a comprehensive educational experience that prepares graduates for success in both technical and managerial positions.
